Kitchen and Bath Industry Show 2026 - NM Interiors Highlights.

KBIS 2026 took place in Orlando, Florida this year and the show once again highlighted what we can expect in the world of kitchen, bath and beyond. Striking collaborations, product development and the latest in high-tech innovation had me totally immersed in the possibilities for upcoming projects.  Here are a few standouts I'd love to share:

Kohler, who was recognized for a fourth consecutive year Best in Show Booth award featured many new offerings focused on wellness, highlighting advanced technology.  The ongoing collaboration with Studio McGee continues to impress with a preview of the Claude Bathroom Collection. The Claude smart toilet being one of my favourite introductions; it thoughtfully offers a more traditional aesthetic to compliment these environments without sacrificing the high-tech capabilities within the smart toilet arena. The Kohler "House Party" displays throughout the booth featuring the unique perspective of seven design firms creating their own unique looks using Kohler product, left me totally inspired. A very distinct warm kitchen layered in various red tones and textures by Moniomi Design featured the 6ft Synthos Kitchen Workstation absolutely stopped me in my tracks.

With finishes one of my favourites was a tour courtesy of Latitude Surfaces to see Cosentino's latest launch: Eclos. This new introduction features inlayered mineral surfaces produced by Inlayr technology so that decoration and pattern can run through the body of the material rather then sit on the surface alone. The Eclos Collection contains zero crystalline silica and incorporates more than 50 percent recycled materials in several options.  The heat resistance reliability suited for kitchens we associate with Dekton by Cosentino, you will still find in this collection - making it a real winner for anyone looking for function and sustainability.  The Cosentino booth featured so many incredible surface applications I'd love to incorporate into upcoming projects. Bonus points as they also made me the most fabulous chai latte I ordered at their booth bar outfitted in Cosentino.  They also won Best Surfaces Booth, congratulations!

Fabuwood, won Best Large Booth. Alongside Creative Director, Kerrie Kelly, Fabuwood continues to deliver on all that is possible with the right design and millwork partner. Full-scale vignettes were thoughtfully curated to showcase how different finishes, door styles, hardware and functional features can truly elevate a space. I had to revisit this booth a second time to properly take in all the wonderful vignettes. A technology corner fully demonstrated all of the technical elements Fabuwood has to offer including integrated lighting & organizational systems.

Amerock was one of my favourite booths in the hardware category to showcase the latest in decorative trends.  Amerock hosted a Design Forecast Discussion as well as a "Sip and Create" event with attendees creating their own custom mood boards while learning about the latest in trends.  This very interactive approach that let you play with various elements, left me looking forward to outfit my next project with Amerock.

Finally, in the technology department FreePower continues to impress with their Countertop 2 innovation. The latest from FreePower integrates invisible, Qi-enabled wireless charging directly into stone or wood countertops, powerful enough to charge laptops. A collaboration between Fabuwood and FreePower with the InFocus drawer highlights how functional good design can be.  Designed and manufactured in the USA by Fabuwood and powered by FreePower's award winning wireless technology, this dedicated drawer allows you to charge your devices out of sight by embedding the circuitry inside the drawer.  Bye-bye clutter and wires!

KBIS 2026 spoke to being intentional with what I am calling quiet luxury: quality materials are readily available in transformative finishes supported by cutting-edge technology to simplify our everyday lives. Nothing was screaming or shouting but rather you saw great examples of collaboration, complimenting each other to cater to a liveable luxury experience that goes beyond a trending brand name, glitz or glam. Your ideal lifestyle can be realized in so many different ways - working with a professional is something I will always recommend to reach your full potential. KBIS highlights the myriad of options with over 2,250+ exhibitors sharing what they have to offer across 1,150,000+ net square feet.

Natalie Mirabelli of NM Interiors is a Toronto based design professional who believes in living well from the inside out. Thank you for following along with me through not only this KBIS show but all my design adventures.  NM, Xx
